Song 1980-10: Cliff Richard, “We Don’t Talk Anymore”

English singer Cliff Richard’s first chart appearance in the ’80s (“We Don’t Talk Anymore”) was released in late 1979, reaching #7 in early 1980. So this guy was HUGE in Britain, where 14 of his songs went to #1 over the span of 40 years. Here in America he only reached the top ten three times and never had a number 1 hit.

However, Mr. Richard does sing one of my favorite songs from the ’80s. Hopefully I’ll remember to say something about that song when it rolls around later in this blog journey…

Memorable lyric: “Well I hope you know which way to go. You’re on your own again. Don’t come crying to me when you’re the lonely one.”
