Song 1980-13: The Eagles, “The Long Run”

The Eagles were  downright HUGE in the ’70s. So when they split up in 1980 it was no surprise that the individual members of the band would have successful solo careers in the ’80s. Released from what would the band’s last album until they miraculously reunited in the ’90s, “The Long Run” reached #8.

This is just one of those feel-good songs that every amateur country-rock band in the ’80s seemed to include in their set list.

Memorable lyric: “Did you do it for love? Did you do it for money? Did you do it for spite? Did you think you had to, honey?”
